If you’re responsible for tracking, managing, or reducing your organisation’s carbon impact, this course gives you the essential tools to do it right.

The ISEP Carbon Footprinting and Reporting course offers clear, practical guidance on how to calculate and report carbon emissions across your business.

Whether you’re building your first footprint or looking to refine existing processes, you’ll gain the skills to confidently measure Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, use data to drive decarbonisation, and align with global frameworks like the GHG Protocol.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Explain the essential mechanisms of climate change, key greenhouse gases, and core carbon quantification terminology
  • Describe the global frameworks, UK government policies, and stakeholder pressures that drive organisational carbon footprinting
  • Provide an overview of carbon quantification frameworks, UK regulatory requirements, and relevant sector standards
  • Develop an organisational carbon footprinting strategy, establish boundaries, and plan an emissions inventory across all relevant scopes
  • Calculate emissions using appropriate methods, activity data, and emission factors, while maintaining data quality
  • Communicate carbon data effectively using relevant reporting frameworks, intensity metrics, and financial arguments
  • Explain how carbon footprints support emissions reduction strategies and progress towards Net Zero
